WE’RE IN TOO !
Broederlijk Delen supports people’s own projects in the South for their fight against poverty and injustice.
‘Vleugels van Hoop’ also organizes valuable projects in the South,
namely in
Burundi and Rwanda.
We are happy to participate in good projects, which is why we support both initiatives:
- Soon all students at our school will receive an envelope from Broederlijk Delen. Can the people in the South count on a modest contribution?
- On 26th February, the parents’ council will organize a ‘coffee stop’ at our school. You can come by, have a wonderful and fair cup of coffee or hot chocolate and make a voluntary contribution.
- On Tuesday 23th March we are having an African day in our school. In various workshops, the children will learn how to play African musical instruments and create African art… In short, they will get an introduction to African culture, because unknown… means unloved!
On Friday 26th March we will be having a sober meal in our school. By doing so, we show our solidarity with those who are less well off.
The entire proceeds of these actions will be divided among Broederlijk Delen
and ‘Vleugels van Hoop’.
Follow-up of the action
23-03-2010 African afternoon
Today we organised in our school an African afternoon, all around 'Wings of Hope'.
All students could choose between 2 workshops, in which real art work could be made e.g. wooden music instruments, masks and small huts in clay, masks in paperboard, macramé bracelets, working with the trunk of Studio Globo, dancing, djembé playing and making African drinks.
The groups of dancing and djembé showed their talents at the end of the afternoon.
All parents, grandparents,... were invited.
The creations made by the students were sold at a price of € 1 and this for the benefit of "Wings of Hope". Also the responsible of this organisation were present and we could tell them afterwards that the turnover was € 274.
It was a succesful afternoon in which all, small or big, had a good time.
