Follow-up of the project

Early morning the hedge of the Captain’s Lounge cheered up by the “Vleugels van Hoop” letters, so that all athletes and supporters easily found the right spot.

Louise started the challenging day by a brave participation in the Chiquita Run.
Koen and Daan represented our runners-team in the Short Run and were soon followed by 20 ladies who endured wind and hail during the Ladies Run and all reached the finish with a big smile.

As final smasher 48 runners started in this 31st edition of the 10 miles of Antwerp! A heavy run but every time these radiant smiles came up during the screams and support of the many Vleugels van Hoop supporters along the road. Koen increased his achievement by also accompanying a son during the 10 miles, in total running 21 km!   
An excellent performance of all participants and a more than welcome financial support by all sponsors with their logo on ‘our’ running-shirt: Socoplast, ABBS, Eastman, HSH Aerospace, Conquista, DNL Systems, DVV en Autovil !

The gathered funds will be fully used, till the last cent, where it is needed the most. Also this year our focus is on “A world for ALL children”, Jya Mu Bandi Mwana, on the construction of a new home for more than 200 disabled children and youngsters.
It was a great gathering during the reception and the buffet in the Captain’s Lounge, where the evening was graced by Jean Bosco Safari, the godfather of Vleugels van Hoop vzw.

Also next year, April 23rd 2017, we hope to count on a sunny day, lots of brave and smiling runners, generous sponsors, hard yelling supporters, …
