Project 54F – Jya mu bandi mwana – Equipment for the new centre

Description of the project:

The aim of this project is the purchase of all needed equipment for the newly constructed centre on Mont Jali, to allow a full-blown start of the new schoolyear in January 2017.

Objectives:

Purchase of:

• Equipment for classrooms of basic education
• Equipment for the dormitories, the refectory and the kitchen
• Equipment for vocational training for youth
• Extra additional water tanks

Beneficiaries:

The beneficiaries are more than 200 disabled children and youngsters in the new centre of Jya mu bandi mwana.

Follow-up of the project may 2017

General status:

The installation of the equipment for the new centre is finalised.

Progress since last status report:

After the finalisation of the 6th and last phase of this grand construction project the centre was officially opened on June 2nd. This all took place in the presence of the members of Vleugels van Hoop, Mr. Pauwels – Ambassador for Belgium in Rwanda and many other invited guests.

Financial status:

All funds were used for equipping the centre: purchase of the equipment for the classes, the dormitories, the refectory as well as materials for the technical education.

Problems/concerns:

The way of communicating is susceptible to improvement.
