Follow-up march 2020

Name project:     Laundry for Saint Cornelius Mental Health Center (SCMHC)

General status:

The project is progressing well.

Progress since last status report:

The work completed after the first report are the ceiling, plastering, door fixing, painting and the tiles. The window fixing, electrical installation and pumbling work is 90% completed.

Financial status:

The amount spent over the last weeks is 4.996.500 Tanzania Shillings and the current balance is 8.864.872 Shillings.

Problems/concerns:

The project is going very well but we had to extend the completion time of the project for one month, because of unavoidable reasons (the supplier had no tiles in stock anymore and I had an urgent family matter so had to travel to Dodoma for one week).

When planning for the project we did not foresee the need for the fence for security, waste systems (septic tank) and the heater for the washing machine. Although, these needs will not hinder the completion of the project.

Progress since last status report:

We have completed the fence and purchased the washing machine. The machine is delivered and is installed by now.

Because of the Covid-19 pandemic, we had some delays in the project (e.g. delivery of the washing machine and construction material) which lead to higher costs. Therefor we had to raise funds to offset the differences.
