Reusable sanitary towelsLocation: Mabayi, Burundi Project leadtime: 6 months Requestor: Josephine Bararwendera for DAB Description of the project: A large number of adolescent girls drop out of school or are absent during their monthly period because they lack the necessary hygiene. If they could get reusable sanitary towels their problem would be solved. Objectives: Providing vulnerable teens with sanitary towels to prevent absenteeism from school. Beneficiaries: 228 young girls, ages 10-20. Budget: 456 sets of 3 sanitary towels: The sanitary towels will be made by Children Rescue Voluntary Organisation (an earlier project of Vleugels van Hoop vzw) in Kabale, Uganda and sent to the applicant of this project. Risks: None Attached documents: Order form for CRVOFollow-up of the projectJune 2021 General status: In order to provide vulnerable young girls with sanitary towels to prevent school absenteeism, CRVO (an earlier project of Vleugels van Hoop vzw) in Kabale was contacted for the production of sanitary towels, as they have experience with this. Financial status: 456 sets of 3 sanitary napkins were manufactured by CRVO in Uganda and sent to the applicant for this project.
