Torfs 2017

At the end of 2017, Vleugels van Hoop submitted a project to compete for one of the contributions allocated by the Torfsfonds to good causes. A very nice initiative of Torfs!
We submitted a project for the purchase of rain material (boots and raincoats) for the children of the CRVO in Uganda. After all, during the heavy rainy season many children hesitate to walk the long way to school.

We were lucky because our project got into the voting round out of the 500 submitted files!
And thanks to the many sympathizers who voted for our organization, our project was selected and we received the nice amount of 1000 €!
On top there was another nice extra! On February 13th, 2018 one of our board members was invited to the head office in Sint-Niklaas to make a nice video about our project!

Follow-up of the project

Tuesday, February 13th, 2018, 4 pm: still a bit nervous to enter the buildings of Torfs for the interview! But what a warm welcome by the people of Torfs! The enthusiasm and interest of the employees and the commercial director for our and all other good causes worked very relaxed and soon we were talking enthusiastically about Africa, about Uganda, ...experiences were exchanged!

While I told them a lot about our projects in Africa in front of the camera, there was a sweet lady who captured my story in a drawing: our solidarity in how we spread hope (and pennies) to Africa to help people on their way to a better life.
The half-hour went by quickly and I went back home with a warm feeling.
